Our Story: The History of LTS

Built After the War

LTS traces its roots back to the years just after World War II, when Theodore — a young man with a knack for building things — set up shop in Orange, Texas. His early work was anything but ordinary: building bomb racks, up-fitting vessels, and completing ship repairs for a nation still finding its footing after the war.

Over the following decades, that work grew into a respected name in commercial construction. Theodore built a reputation for quality and integrity that would come to define the company for generations. When he retired in the 1980s, he didn't set down his tools entirely — he kept building, taking on projects of his own, driven by the same passion that started it all.

A Legacy Renewed

After Theodore's passing, the company he built went quiet for a time. In 2016, his son, AJ Preston, made the decision to bring it back — not as a new venture, but as a continuation of something started nearly seventy years earlier. The name chosen for this new chapter, LTS, honors the people at the heart of the company's history — including Theodore and a beloved sister who passed away and whose memory remains woven into everything the company stands for.
